Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (Washington State)

Scope

This policy is addressed to people in Washington State (United States) and supplements our privacy policy, as required by the My Health My Data Act. It describes the consumer health data the HoraDose app processes, and your rights over it.

Health data collected

The health data you enter in the app — your medications and schedules, your doses, your mood and journal, your symptoms, your appointments and your contacts — is stored on your device, in an encrypted database, and does not leave it by default. We do not collect it on our servers in readable form: when you turn on a feature that passes it through, or keeps it with us (the "Ensemble" caregiver mode, the HoraDose cloud), it is encrypted on your device before being sent and we cannot read it.

We infer no health information from other data, we do not track your location without your explicit consent (sharing your location with a loved one is optional, turned on by you and visible at all times), and we use no geofencing around health facilities.

Sources and purposes

Source: you alone, through what you enter in the app, and, if you choose, the Apple Health or Health Connect data (steps, sleep, weight) you allow us to read. Purpose: to remind you of your doses according to your prescriber's instructions, to keep your journal, and, if you turn it on, to share what you choose with a loved one or to keep an encrypted copy. No advertising purpose, no sale, no sharing for commercial purposes.

Sharing

We do not sell health data and do not share it for advertising. The only companies involved are our processors named in the privacy policy (hosting in Canada, anonymized crash reports, purchases, notifications, encrypted video calls, public drug registries, the location map on Android, Dropbox if you choose it); none of them receives your health data in readable form. Your data is shared with a loved one only if you allow it, through a separate consent that you can withdraw at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to know whether we process health data about you and to access it; to withdraw your consent; to have it deleted; and to obtain the list of third parties it was shared with (our processors, named in the privacy policy). In the app: Settings › Privacy ("Export all my data", "Your privacy choices", "Erase all my data"). By email: privacy@horadose.com. We answer within the time the law provides.

If we deny a request, you may appeal by writing to the same address with the word "Appeal". If the appeal is denied, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General.
