Video calls with your loved one
Private, encrypted video visits (Ensemble plan)
Start a video call
From the conversation with your loved one, tap the 📹 icon at the top right. While it rings you see yourself in a small frame (your loved one can't see you yet); the two-way video only starts once your loved one answers. Your loved one sees a ring and can answer or decline. Calls are private and end-to-end encrypted — nobody else can watch or listen.
Answer a call
When your loved one calls, your phone rings and shows the call — even if the app is closed or the screen is off. Tap Answer to start the video, or Decline. If your phone is locked, it asks you to unlock before opening the video; declining works without unlocking. If your phone is on silent, the call appears without ringing. Without an answer after 45 seconds, the call becomes missed.
Missed calls
A missed call shows on your Home screen with your loved one's name and the time. Tap Call back with video, or Call by phone — the phone call always stays available and free.
Your video minutes
The Ensemble plan includes video call minutes every month — the number is shown on the Plans screen. When less than a minute remains, the app offers to add minutes — even during a call, without hanging up: the Video+ subscription (100 minutes every month) or a one-time purchase of 100 minutes that never expire. A single call also has a maximum length; as it nears the end, a message warns you and you can call back right away.
