Security & Privacy

Lock with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or a PIN code

Locking with Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint

Protect access to HoraDose so it stays reserved to you alone.

How does it work?

When you open HoraDose, the app verifies your identity using your face (Face ID), your fingerprint, or your 4-digit code before showing your health data. This prevents anyone else from accessing your medications if they pick up your phone.

Turn on the lock

  1. Open Settings → Security & Privacy in HoraDose.
  2. Turn on the « Protect access to HoraDose » switch.
  3. HoraDose asks you to verify your identity with Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint.
  4. Then choose a 4-digit code. You will use it if biometrics ever fail (wet finger, mask, etc.).
  5. Confirm the code a second time.
  6. The lock is now active. HoraDose will ask for your identity the next time you open the app.

What if biometrics fail?

If Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint isn't recognized, you can type your 4-digit code. If you have forgotten your code, unlock with Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint: that always works. After several wrong codes, the keypad locks; HoraDose reminds you that your medical data is safe and invites you to unlock with your face or fingerprint.

Change your code, the delay, or the code length

Still in Settings → Security & Privacy:

  • Change my PIN code — to change your code.
  • Delay before re-verification — how long HoraDose waits before asking for your identity again when you come back to the app (15 minutes by default).
  • Code length — 4 or 6 digits.

Help from a caregiver

If a loved one supports you, the lock screen shows "Need help?" with a button to call them directly.

HoraDose and your biometric data

HoraDose does not collect, store, or transmit any biometric data. Your face or fingerprint stays exclusively inside the secure area of your phone, managed by Apple or Google. HoraDose only receives the « success » or « failure » result of the verification. Your PIN code, if set, is stored only on your phone, encrypted, and is never transmitted.
